QUARTZ ENGINEERED STONE DEFINED
One of the hardest minerals known to man is Quartzite. Due to that fact, Engineered stone, is one of our preferred surfaces and contains over 90% Quartz. The Quartz is combined with numerous polymers and dashes of pigments in a unique patented process, and the result is a range of durable and beautiful quartz surfaces in a wide variety of colours and finishes.
Engineered Stone surfaces are highly resistant to just about everything you can throw at them, refusing to crack, chip or stain. They are also more heat resistant than granite, marble and limestone – with a capacity to resist temperatures as high as 180°C. However, we suggest that hot pots and pans never be placed directly on the surface. We also recommend a hot pad, trivet or board be placed on the surface under cooking items such as electric frying pans, crock pots, or roasting Pans.
Engineered Stone is available in 20mm and 30mm thickness (most Brands) and come in an assortment of colours. Thicker profiles can be formed by mitring the 20mm.
Maintaining their glorious looks for years to come is easy, a splash of mild detergent is all that’s required. For more stubborn stains a watered-down Jiff Cream Cleaner can be used. Engineered Stone surfaces carry a 10 year limited warranty for residential applications.
